My mum never once let me use sun in! But I do remember having hair mascara! And my hair getting tangled around the wand. And tubs of Ruby and Millie face glitter which I still have somewhere. And CK One. Which I still wear to this day. The 90s was a brilliant decade.

I need to know more about the hair bleach - was it bleach in a bottle or a lemon juice based solution!? I remember reading SO many magazines telling me to douse my hair in lemon juice for ‘natural highlights’. I, a brunette, did not have much luck 😂

Oh they used to tell us all sorts didn’t they! I can’t remember exactly what was in it but - back then at least - it certainly didn’t do much for the health of my hair!

The 90s were very special. I was 20 at the time of your novel Parklife which I'm reading right now. And loving the music references 😃 I grew up in Denmark so things were a bit different although I lived in London around 1996!

The sun-in has been a stable in my life for sure. I can still smell the very lemony aroma. I had a stereo just like your photo too and I loved Neneh Cherry and Transvision Vamp, Madonna and Ophra Haza - and yes also Europe 🙈

Cacharel Anaïs Anaïs must have been earlier (?) and then progressing to Lou Lou

Fun memories. And I can't believe its however-many-years ago

My mum used to wear Anais Anais which clearly meant that I did too - nicking it from her dresser when she was out
