Have you got time to read this? No Worries if Not
It’s publication day for my new book, No Worries if Not, so I’ve been talking all things ‘sorry’ and imposter phenomenon and, of course, our overuse of the NWIN phrase, to mark the occasion. But first, here are some of the lovely things that Netgalley reviewers have said about the book…
I have also been eating pizza (again!) and cake (thank you Koru), and generally enjoying Thursday 3rd August 2023 - the day I was published by a major global publisher (having HarperCollins on your CV is definitely something to shout about!).
Anyway, it’s been a fun week, with national coverage and exciting collaborations. So here’s some of what we’ve been up to:
WIN! A Spark Company t-shirt and a copy of No Worries if Not!
We teamed up with one of my fave clothing brands, Spark Company, to give away a brilliant t-shirt and book prize package.

No Worries if Not! named in Red Magazine’s top 10 August books
You heard that right! I was absolutely bowled over when Red Magazine’s literary editor, Sarra Manning, tagged me in her ‘best books for August’ post on Instagram.
Is our overuse of the phrase ‘no worries if not’ a sign of imposter phenomenon?
I wrote a piece for I News on this very topic, with expert comment from my brilliant friend and positive psychology practitioner, Ruth Cooper Dickson.
Why do we find it so hard to stand up and say ‘I’m an author’?
Again linking to the core theme of the book, this piece for The Bookseller looks at why authors find it so difficult to say they are, in fact, an author!
(Plus, I watched an episode of Bridgerton today that featured a VERY relevant scene - just switch author for artist…)
Bookseller tour with Gen Pegg of Harper North
My wonderful editor, Gen Pegg, of Harper North, made her way to Newcastle yesterday for a whistle stop bookseller tour and a lovely celebratory lunch. I felt ridiculously special - and we also made sure the booksellers felt special too by sharing boxes of Krispy Kreme’s (that’s me and Waterstones’ Alison in the pic below - who also happens to be an amazing writer!)
Now, there’s a reason we opted for the donut theme, but I wont spoil it if you haven’t read the book yet…all I’m saying is, there is A LOT of talk of something that looks like a donut…
Finally, if you haven’t seen our excellent book trailer yet please do give it a watch here (see below) and be sure to order a copy of No Worries if Not! if you want to find out why I’m banging on about donuts…
